Digital minister says to focus on digital state services

MOSCOW, Feb 5 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Digital Development Ministry will prioritize the laws related to digital state services, Minister Maksut Shadayev, who headed the authority on January 21, told reporters on Wednesday after a meeting of the information policy committee of the State Duma, the parliament’s lower house.

“Today we’ve discussed the block of digital services, the matters of interaction of our citizens and business with the government in a broad sense, in all aspects, state services and access to data,” Shadayev said.

“I’m mostly concerned about the laws on the order of provision of state services and the system of online identification of people in the digital channels and the ways such services’ receipt from the government in a comfortable, easy and safe format. It’s all, possibly, our priority.”

Business could partially finance development of digital services. “As to the digital services, we think part of the load could be taken by business and we could along with business develop the digital platforms so that the government would spend less budget money or even spend none at all. We’ll discuss it (with business) and offer joint projects of that kind,” the minister said.
